A nexus for people, research and healing, the new UCSF Weill Neurosciences Building provides places for patients with complex cases to receive expert care, and for researchers to seek and find answers to challenging neurological and psychiatric conditions.
Mark Cavagnero Associates and SmithGroup designed an open, inviting ecosystem to support discovery; researchers and clinicians collaborate and connect in clinics, research centers, and shared facilities fostering a stronger community. Architecture, materials and furniture support patients, visitors and staff with warmth, wood, natural light, accessibility and the space they need for comfort.
“Big goals require close collaboration of large multidisciplinary teams. The UCSF Weill Neurosciences Building will enable widespread sharing of expertise, data and tools to tackle the big problems.” Stephen Hauser, MD, professor of neurology and director of the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences
